Due Last Day of CoOp! May 28th
Project Overview:
Get ready to transform our classroom into a living museum of ancient civilizations! You'll be researching a famous person or scene from an ancient civilization of your choice, bringing it to life through a costume and a short presentation.
Instructions:
Choose Your Adventure:
This time, you get to be the explorer! Pick an ancient civilization that piques your curiosity. Here are some ideas to get you started:
Mesopotamia (Sumer, Akkadia, Babylonia)
Ancient Egypt
Indus Valley Civilization
Ancient Greece
Ancient Rome
Ancient China
Maya Civilization
Aztec Civilization
Inca Civilization
If you have another civilization in mind, run it by me for approval!
Research & Scriptwriting:
Once you've chosen your civilization, delve into the world of your chosen topic. Is it a famous leader? A skilled artisan? A pivotal historical event? Learn everything you can about them!
Write a short script (1-2 minutes) that you'll deliver in character when visitors approach you in the museum.
Include interesting facts, anecdotes, or demonstrations related to your topic.
Remember, you're the expert on this piece of history!
Costume & Props:
Time to get creative! Design and create a costume that reflects your character or scene.
Gather props that enhance your presentation (scrolls, tools, weapons, etc.) if relevant.
Think outside the box! Be resourceful and let your imagination run wild (while staying historically accurate).
Presentation Practice:
Prepare to share your knowledge!
Museum Day:
The big day has arrived!
Dress up in your costume and set up your space in the classroom.
Remain still in character until visitors approach you.
Deliver your prepared speech and answer any questions visitors may have.
Engage with the audience and bring history to life!
Additional Tips:
Label your display with your civilization, character/scene name, and a brief description.
Consider incorporating background music or visuals (pictures, maps) to enhance your display.
Collaborate with classmates studying the same civilization to create a more immersive experience.
