Tuesday

Robotics- This week our robotics class took on more of a hands on STEM project and built our own popsicle stick catapults. Everyone followed along with the steps to put their own together (other than the hot glue) and successfully started launching foam balls.

Phonics- Phonics this week covered our last short E word ending family EG where we as a class came up with the not so long list of EG ending words and spent some time creating the first of a few Mothers Day projects.

Numeracy- Geometry and shapes were the topic of our class on Tuesday. Each student created a chart with the geometrical name and number of sides for shapes and together tried to think of things in everyday life that are that shape/have that number of sides. After the chart, the class created their own geometric shape puppets to help familiarize themselves with the names and number of sides shapes have.

Wednesday

Cooking & Gardening/Botany- This week was all about the Dandelions! Cooking class this week used both freshly picked and dried dandelion to boil and seep into a tea which was then combined with gelatin powder and honey to create the mixture needed to mold into gummies! Bears, lips and sea creatures all formed into the yummy dandelion gummies.

Botany class focus was on the health benefits and facts about dandelions. So many people only see dandelions as a weed and have no idea just how beneficial every part of the dandelion all the way down to the roots can be or even that the "wish" plants that are picked and blown are dandelions at the end of their life cycle.
